Experience with each of the traditional methodologies mentioned above led us to examine each for their respective points of failure. We also examined each methodology to identify good features for which the methodology was created. What we found was that each traditional methodology is in fact a next step in an evolutionary process and was created out of frustration with the shortcomings of the previous methodology. As a result we developed, or evolved, Guided Evolutionary Development to capitalize on the good features of traditional methodologies while eliminating potential points of difficulty.
Guided Evolutionary Development can basically be described as the iterative process of evolving the system under the guidance of knowledgeable business experts with decision-making authority. A team of highly experienced developers works to understand and document the requirement of the system based on process analysis and goals. The Company's business experts will act as guides, decision-makers, and problem solvers, and will own the responsibility for communication to end-users and organizations.
