NASA has announced that its most prestigious group award will be given to the Incident Reporting and Information System Web-Based Enhancement Team, a collaboration between Efficient Enterprise Engineering, Inc. (Ex3), located in Tempe, Arizona, and NASA. The award, signed by the NASA Administrator, cites “exceptional support in the design, build, and NASA Agency-wide deployment of a new web-based enhanced Incident Reporting and Information System.”
The NASA Group Achievement Award is the highest honor group award given to NASA and contractor employees, according to NASA Human Resources. Mrs. Suzanne Otero, NASA Project Manager, will be receiving the award on behalf the team. “Hard work, dedication, innovation, and focus of the entire team were essential in the success of this project,” said Mrs. Otero. “These are individuals who understand the wide-ranging scope and potential effect of this project on each and every NASA employee, each NASA Center, and on the Mission of NASA as a whole.”
“We're very pleased and proud to be recognized for this accomplishment,” said Nathan Giles, President and CEO of Ex3. “Ex3 technology greatly enhances the operational efficiency of an organization. For NASA, Ex3 has provided the ability to better manage information related to quality, safety, and employee health. This most certainly contributes to the success of the NASA mission and helps satisfy the recommendations of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB).” The Ex3 members of the NASA implementation team honored are: Matt McKiernan, Raji Dasari, Anirban Das, and Nathan Giles.
In May of 2003, NASA selected the Ex3 EHS Data Management System and Agency-wide implementation of the Ex3 system was completed in June of 2004. All NASA centers are using the Ex3 system for reporting and managing NASA’s quality, safety, and health data. “In addition to being a replacement of obsolete functionality, the design and scalability of the new system is leading to changes in how data is being gathered across NASA. Real-time web access to information enables NASA employees and contractors to act as a team and communicate better than ever before. This improves NASA performance significantly,” said Mrs. Otero.
