Today OSHA published documentation for the Comma Seperated Variable (CSV) and Application Programming Interface (API) formats for upload to OSHA enabling compliance with the new rules for electronic reporting.
The API allows for direct uploading from a commercial Occupational Health/Medical records system such as Ex3. An extract of pertinate date will be directly sent to OSHA from the system.
The CSV allows for a formatted file that can be generated by Excel or by hand for summary reporting.
If your company doesn’t currently use an electronic medical records system for occupational health then it’s time you spoke with Ex3. Ex3 is a leading global provider of enterprise EHS software solutions and electronic medical records systems for occupational health, wellness and medical monitoring and is used by many of the worlds largest companies. Ex3 worked directly with OSHA to assist with the development of the new CSV and API formats.
